Volunteer Opportunities
There are a multitude of ways to volunteer: Front office volunteers to work with clients doing intakes, assessing individual circumstances and providing the right resources that are needed. Back office volunteers are needed to pack food bags, food needs to be put away, and clothes need to be sorted. Volunteers are also needed for special events such as holiday food basket distributions for our families. Community service hours are available.
Intern Opportunities
Internships are available year-round for students who want to work with families. Responsibilities include those of our regular volunteers but also require students to seek an active role in the agency. Interns need to take a working knowledge of skills necessary to work with the constituency. You may be asked to help develop/plan a workshop alongside a case manager or help with a fundraising project. Interns must have 12 units in qualifying course work to begin internship.
It is your caring eyes the clients remember. If you are interested in a volunteer position, internship or more information, please contact the office at 562-598-9790.
